Clickipedia is a Wikipedia racing game. This page says what we store when you play, and what we don’t do with it. We don’t sell personal information.
Play without an account
You can play as a guest. We create a guest profile with a generated name and keep a cookie in your browser so the same profile is there next time. That profile holds the games you start on this browser. If you later create an account here, those guest games move onto the account.
Accounts
If you sign up, we store your name, your email address, and a password in a form that cannot be read back. We don’t ask you to verify the email. A session cookie keeps you signed in for about 60 days, and it refreshes while you keep using the site.
Password resets are emailed to you from noreply@clickipedia.io. The link works for one hour. If you didn’t ask for it, you can ignore the message and your password stays the same.
Games and leaderboards
We store the routes you play, how many clicks you used, how long it took, the score, and whether you finished or left. Your display name and score can appear on a leaderboard. Anyone can open your profile from there. It shows your rank, points, averages, streak, and best results, and your latest 40 games. That includes practice: the start article, the target, the clicks, and the time. In a multiplayer round, the other players can see your name, and they can see the route you took once the round is over.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages are opened and how games go: starts, clicks, finishes, leaves, and shares. That can include whether the player is a guest or signed in. Google Analytics sets its own cookies in your browser. We don’t use this for ads. Google’s own description of what it does with that data is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Who else handles this
The site is hosted so it can be served to you, game records sit in a database, and password-reset email goes out through an email service. Those providers process the data only to run Clickipedia.
How long we keep it
Account and game records stay while the account exists. Guest data stays with the browser cookie. Email jake@clickipedia.io if you want an account deleted, or if you want a copy of what we have for you.
Children
Clickipedia is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
